Larger rubber stamps often end up too big to press down on a regular ink pad. But you can still use your ink pad with your rubber stamp. Just make sure to use a raised bed ink pad, as shown in the photos below.
Step One
Turn your rubber stamp over so that the stamp is facing upwards.
Step Two
Using your raised bed ink pad, fold the lid all the way back and then pat the ink pad gently onto the stamp until the whole illustration is lightly inked. A little goes a long way with rubber stamps, there is no need to press any harder than a light dab. Just make sure that the full area of the stamp is covered with ink.
Step Three
Turn the stamp back over and carefully place it onto the surface you wish to stamp. We recommend to do this with both hands to make sure you have the best control of the stamp. This helps achieve a more even impression.
Step Four
Apply a small amount of even pressure to the stamp. Again, you don't need to be too forceful here.
Step Five
Remove the stamp, et voilà!
Unsure of which ink pad to choose?
Versacolor ink pads are great for any type of stamping, and are suitable for larger stamps as they have a raised ink bed. The Versafine ink pads also feature a raised bed, and pick up finer details extremely well. If your stamp has smaller details, we would definitely recommend a Versafine ink pad.
