Set in the Caribbean paradise of Barbados, this shoot was beautifully planned and styled by Helaina Storey Wedding Design. The inspiration for this aesthetic was to break away from the typical beach wedding and to incorporate some more contemporary & bohemian elements while making the most of the spectacular natural scenery.

Azalea is aquatic, romantic, timeless. The oval shape gives an antique feel, reminding us of an heirloom pocket portrait from times gone by. The flowing sea grass gently climbing upwards around the frame combined with the conch shell further add to the antique aesthetic, almost as if it is a treasure once lost at sea. William Morris is known the world over for creating absolutely stunning prints and textiles, so it should come as no surprise that a shoot in his own home, Kelmscott Manor, would be anything less than the same. There are plenty of interesting elements here for the wandering eye, starting with the dress. A creation of Catharina Eden from My Eden Bridal, the overall silhouette of the wedding gown is kept quite simple allowing the beautiful choices of upcycled fabrics to do the talking.

This was a winter wedding with botanical, minimal and timeless elements carried throughout. The colour palette is very much representative of the time of year with cool shades of green and off white. The subtle use of blush pink adds a touch of warmth without taking away from the overall wintery aesthetic.
